Barn Dance Project

Barn Dance Project (BDP) was established in 2019, purposed to present professional, high quality, accessible dance works to Central New York in an unconventional space (aka: a barn) and to aide in the art revitalization for the community in which Caitlyn grew up. BDP launched its inaugural performance Evening of Dance at Woodshill in May 2019, featuring six female, regional and national choreographers.

Caitlyn was born and raised in the Utica, NY area, where she gained her dance foundation. Now, as a professional dance artist, she is eager to give back to the community that acted as her initial pedigree.

Along with the Theater at Woodshill, Caitlyn collaborates to provide a platform for female choreographers- local, regional, and national- who share a similar artistic vision, who value the transformative power of the arts, and who advocate for making dance accessible to communities. The result is a mix-bill, evening-length contemporary dance concert in a nontraditional dance space – “in the round,” in a barn, on a family’s estate.

To have been able to do this for my hometown was an honor and privilege and I hope to continue to give back to the community that raised me.
