liminality project

This work is an emanating illusion of the confines that surround choice making, construction and identification, and mortification of historically and socially organized standards of artmaking, preservation and creative exploration…make me your manifesto adorns the audience with every gentle nudge possible to encourage opportunities for an unrestricted, forwardly immersive perspective

Who We Are…

Caitlyn Schrader presents group dance works under the moniker, liminality project, producing collaborative choreographic works for stage, alternative spaces, and installation.

As a collective, we find value in projects and practices that are rooted in community, experimentation, horizontal integration of disciplines, and authentic human relationships.

We live in a constant state of liminality, the in-between of a moment that just passed and a moment yet to come. It is at this threshold where we encounter the unknown and must muster up equal parts awareness, openness, and curiosity as we navigate through this potent state of possibility. Traversing these borders between art and life, image and reality, there is living possibility at play.

What we hope from your shared experience in witnessing our dance works is that we activate the space (in)between us all that might lead to the discovery of something new.

As liminality project, we believe…

Dance is/as ritual.

Dance is/as a portal of transformation.

Dance is/as a social practice, of being human.

Dance is/as community.

Dance is/as service to self for collective survival.

Dance is/as humanity.

Dance is/as a means of freedom and liberation.

Collaborators

A work that splices through time to explore the continuity of linear and horizontal energy in motion. Describing its essence, I’d say I visualized an aurora - that’s just how radiant it was...make me your manifesto instinctively incentivizes its participants to deconstruct the liminality of reality from the outside, < IN >.
